This was a very random discovery. Chalk it up to my sense of humor, but the serious painterly method makes this bird even funnier to me. I found this hand painted extinct bird in a shop in Austin, Texas. It is painted on a 1-3/4 inch mother of pearl disc backed in brass. Of course, I wanted to wear it, so I took it to India and made it into a pendant/brooch. It is not signed by the artist, but it is wonderful nonetheless. This dodo has been around the world and back.
